Sometimes, on a PC/labtop we have more than one user account, a user for our use, and another for the user used another person in our family. It is also often used in small offices that are not using the Domain Controller, in which a computer/labtop to sharing to some employees.
In Windows 8, there are features of Family Safety. This feature allows us to provide restricted access on another user's computer/labtop us, an example is to restrict the time a user login. Actually in Windows 7, there is such a feature, that is, Parental Control, but in Windows 8, it was renamed to Family Safety, of course with some excess which is not owned by
Parental Control.
We can access Family Safety from your Control Panel, or by pressing the Windows key + W (the windows key and the letter w on the keyboard), and then type settings result in family, Family Safety, click as shown below;
Family Safety Control Panel can be seen in the example image below;
In the picture above there are three user accounts, namely JamalNst (administrator), brutal (standard user) and rafiqa (administrator). Further information about the user account you can read in the create user accounts and change the account type.
We will try to enable Family Safety on user puspita (standard user), for that you need to log in using another user account (administrator). Click on the user account that you want to set, for example in the image above we click user puspita.
Then you need to enable Family Safety on the brutal user, click On, enforce the curent settings. Then click Time limits. You can see in the image below.
Here there are two options, namely the Set time allowance and Set curfew. You can make settings on one or both of these options.
On the first Time allowance options you can set how long a user can use a maximum of brutal killings in accessing the computer/labtop, clicking on the caret for more detail.
Maybe you want to restrict your child should only be using a labtop computer/4.5 hours a day. In the example picture below I restrict users puspita could only use computers 4 hours 30 minutes on Monday to Friday, but gave him the freedom to access the computer on Saturday and Sunday.
In the second option IE the Curfew, we could limit the hours, how many other people can access your computer. For example, in a small office you do not allow employees to access the computer outside of work hours.
In the example image below, I will limit the user shouldn't be using computers puspita from 8 am to 8 pm (08.00 to 20.00). You can simply click on the box and highlight the Curfew.
The blue color indicates Blocked (no access to computers) and white marks Allowed (allowed to access the computers).
To do the test you can try to login using the user puspita.
In addition to the limitation of time, Family Safety can also be used for restrictions on websites, games, and application. We will discuss that on another occasion.
Congratulations and good luck with learning ... you!!
